High Frequency

High-frequency (HF) RFID systems typically operate in the frequency band of 13.56 MHz, that is license-free worldwide.  For over a decade, most RFID has been practiced at HF and the amount spent on HF tags and readers represents 50% of the global RFID market.  The main standards used such as ISO 14443 and ISO 15693 have formed the basis of the new application specific standards for such things as e-passports and micropayment.
